Guest Editors for Ruin

Lead Editor—Ricky Varghese received his PhD through the Department of Social Justice Education (formerly known as the Department of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Social Justice Education) at OISE/University of Toronto. He, as well, holds an MA from the same department, and a BSW from York University and an MSW from the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Social Work. He works as a psychotherapist in private practice in downtown Toronto. His research interests extend across the fields of psychoanalytic theory, aesthetics, art criticism and film theory. In the space of art writing, he has written about Gerhard Richter, Vincent Chevalier, Francisco-Fernando Granados, and, more recently, Henning Rogge. He is presently at work on a book project that addresses the temporalities of sex, specifically of barebacking and the time of the future anterior, and the role of AIDS in the history of sexuality as depicted in queer male pornography and in the work of Canadian artist Vincent Chevalier. utoronto.academia.edu/RickyVarghese

Managing Editor—Natasha Chaykowski  is a Montreal-based writer and curator. She has organized numerous exhibitions, discursive programs and arts-based events. Chaykowski held a curatorial assistant position at Art Gallery of Ontario, co-curated the annual Emerging Artist Exhibition at InterAccess in Toronto with Nancy Webb and is the co-recipient of the 2014 Middlebrook Prize for Young Canadian Curators. She was Editorial Assistant for the Journal of Curatorial Studies and the Editorial Resident at Canadian Art Magazine in 2014. Her writing has been published in Carbon Paper, the Art Gallery of York University, esse: arts + opinions, Canadian Art, Gallery 44, and the Journal of Curatorial Studies.

Editor, Interviews—Caoimhe Morgan-Feir is an art writer living in Toronto. She was awarded the international Frieze Writer’s Prize, and her art criticism has been published in PUBLIC, esse, Journal of Curatorial Studies, Magenta and more. She is the editor of KAPSULA Magazine, a digital publication for experimental art writing.

Editor, Reviews—Nancy Webb is a Montreal-based writer, curator and art historian currently completing an MA in art history at Concordia University. She recently co-curated the Annual Emerging Artist Exhibition at InterAccess in Toronto with Natasha Chaykowski, as well as the exhibitions 1+1 Equals Eleven and Yearbook at Concordia University.
