Ziad Naccache

[portfolio_slideshow]

In an attempt to look back at the sources that fuel my current work, I used my digital image bank to create a series of loosely curated mind maps. Each map is organized around a theme and/or category of images (artists whose work I enjoy, found jpgs, mid twentieth century book cover, skulls, contemporary fashion). The results, although partial and momentary, function as a personal cultural archive which might be more revelatory than any artists statement or press release.

Ziad Naccache was born in Beirut, Lebanon. He received his BFA from the Université du Québec a Montréal and his MFA in painting from the Rhode Island School of Design. He attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in 2008 and was a recent fellow at MacDowell Colony. Ziad Naccache has shown his work in Canada, Lebanon and the United States. He now lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
